Create your own ABCD server

ADVANCED USERS ONLY

A community with several  tutors and many children can share an ABCD server locally. Technical skills are required to install and manage the server. Parents should use the  online ABCD server, maintained by the National Research Council, and  available to all.
If the Internet does not perform adequately – e.g., slow image loading  – even an individual  user can install the software locally, keeping in mind that it requires the technical skills of a software systems analyst.

The software is licensed under the Creative Common 3.0 di tipo CC BY-NC-SA. The release of the software allows experienced users to set up their own server machine with integrated ABCD. To facilitate the installation and configuration of the software, the ABCD Team releases a virtual machine represented by a LAMP server Ubuntu 12.04 Version with ABCD SW integrated and usable after installing VirtualBox available for free on the net.

System Requirements:

  • OPERATING SYSTEM : Any compatible with VirtualBox
  • Free space on HARD -DISK not less than 8 Gb
  • RAM memory not less than 1024 Mb

The virtual machine to install requires an Internet connection to work, since ABCD SW is a Web application. Thus  a  LAN network or WiFi network is necessary.

For installation read the Installation Guide provided in the following table.
For other questions, please visit the FAQ page.

The ABCD SW  Team does NOT provide support during installation or use of the software, and is  in no  way responsible for its misuse or malfunction.
